Chicago day trip. Day was cloudy and quite chilly, but we accomplished a lot. First, Thomas got his Polish passport pictures taken at the Victor Photography Studio, next to the Wally's Market in Chicago on Irving Park Road. While there we did quick shopping at the market, but to me the prices seemed much higher than at the Montrose Deli. On the upside they had an addition with alcohols. Good to know where to buy Zywiec, although on this trip we did not buy anything.

The pictures were accepted at the consulate, so he knew exactly what he was doing, most of the pictures other people presented were rejected. We paid $19 for four pictures, actually $19.70, because I used credit card.

While Thomas and I were waiting in the line, Monika got her brand new and shiny Polish Passport. Great, at least her troubles are over.

Thomas had to re-write his application with names Thomas Andrew instead of Tomasz Andrzej, all the paperwork got accepted, and all we need to do now is wait six months or more for the official notification from the consulate once the passport is here.

After the grueling three hours + wait at the consulate we visited Ciocia Ela and Monika. I installed Firefox on Ela's computer and set up iGoogle, Gmail and Picasa accounts. It should be easier now not only to surf but also to organize and share pictures. Cool!
